We provide children and teenagers from an underprivileged community the chance to grow through Jiu-Jitsu, shaping a new generation of professionals ready to take their place in the world — and help Gracie Barra expand worldwide.
OUR MISSION
At Gracie Barra Carnaubinha, we believe in the power of Jiu-Jitsu to transform lives. Guided by the philosophy of “Jiu-Jitsu for everyone”, our social project brings high-quality Jiu-Jitsu training to underprivileged communities, giving children and teenagers the tools they need to grow, thrive, and create brighter futures.
But our mission goes beyond the mats. Inspired by Carlos Gracie Jr.’s vision of a Gracie Barra school in every city around the world, we are preparing the next generation of well-trained Jiu-Jitsu professionals. Through our program, young people not only develop discipline, confidence, and resilience—they also learn essential professional skills, including management, sales, marketing, and public speaking. This equips them to succeed both on the mats and in the professional world, helping to expand Gracie Barra globally while making a real difference in their communities.
Through training, mentorship, and consistent support—including initiatives like providing nutritious lunch boxes after class—we empower kids and teens to develop personally, academically, and professionally.

Renowned for his expertise on and off the mat, he is also a social innovator committed to giving back to the community.

PURPLE BELT, ENTREPRENEUR & FOUNDERLayelli is the founder of the Gracie Barra Carnaubinha social project, an entrepreneur, and a Jiu-Jitsu practitioner. Her purpose is to bring the gentle art to everyone and transform lives through the sport.
JORGE GOMES
BLACK BELT, PROFESSORProfessor Jorge is a 4th-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Master Pascoal Duarte, with over 30 years of experience. He believes Jiu-Jitsu is a powerful tool to transform lives, helping children and teens build discipline, confidence, respect, and resilience while creating opportunities for a brighter future.
